article in today’s Austin Business Journal reports that the burgers served by local restaurants P. Terry and Hopdoddy have been named among the top thirty-three best burgers in the United States. Congratulations to these restaurants for their notable achievement! The article isn’t concerned with gluten-free burgers, of course, but P Terry does offer gluten-free burgers. It does not, however, offer gluten-free buns. Hopdoddy does offer gluten-free burgers on gluten-free buns. Although I have not yet tried a burger at Hopdoddy’s, my Celiac daughter has. She eats the burger sans bun, for fear of cross-contamination in the restaurant’s kitchen. She reports that the Hopdoddy burgers she eats without buns are delicious. My son, who also has to eat gluten-free, eats Hopdoddy’s gluten-free buns without any problems, and says that the buns are pretty good quality.
